Hegelian Idealism in the XXI Century: New Constellations and New Directions

The conference, organized by the Department of Philosophy, Communication and Performing Arts of Roma Tre University with the support of, among others, the Fondazione Elvira Badaracco, intends to reflect on and discuss the forgotten or unexplored constellations of thought that supported, influenced, or cross-pollinated Hegel’s philosophy, and to increase the synergy between classical German philosophy and new technologies. Drawing on new scientific acquisitions regarding the constellation of the feminine in relation to Hegelian thought, the following will be collectively investigated and discussed:

1. the female figures with whom Hegel maintained relationships in various contexts (familial, translational, artistic);
2. the potential interactions between a philosophical narrative that centers the feminine and the intellectual role of women, and the production of new philosophical genres through new digital tools such as AI;
3. the unexpressed emancipatory potential, still to be explored and valued, within German idealism, when the latter is questioned and investigated in light of the current debate on inclusion, gender, and Digital Humanities.

In the first session, dedicated to “The Archive and the Female Gender,” Carlotta Cossutta will speak on our behalf.
