For some time, we have aimed to maintain a vital relationship with the public by moving beyond the exclusive model of accessing goods and services in physical locations; cultural policies at the European level also focus on the digitization of archival heritage.
However, digitization in itself remains silent if not accompanied by adequate narrative tools: it requires the experimentation of new formats, with the aim, on the one hand, of improving the dissemination and accessibility of the Foundation’s archival and documentary heritage, and on the other, of reaching new users and broader audiences.
Hence the decision to create, on the Fondazione Badaracco website, a section dedicated to enhancing the content of the archives and more generally the themes addressed by the Foundation, through digital exhibitions: a decision rewarded by considerable public response, including international, which has led us to begin publishing some content in English (for now the exhibition Marta Lonzi).
The exhibitions are designed with a broad perspective, envisaging the use of sources/links present in other institutions, in an integrated and collaborative vision of research.
The archive thus manifests itself as a generative place of new knowledge.
