Three women
Katherine Mansfield, Ingeborg Bachmann, Alice Munro

Monica Demuru, under the direction of Daria Deflorian and in collaboration with Andrea Pizzalis, brings to the stage texts by Katherine Mansfield, Ingeborg Bachmann, and Alice Munro—three authors distant in geography and stylistic outcomes, yet who represent some of the greatest literary expressions of the female universe, which emerged with difficulty during the last century and remains resonant and alive today.

Monica Demuru, actress and singer, reads and creates soundscapes for the stories, either aloud or with the help of instruments, restoring the multiplicity of voices and landscapes in which the protagonists move unpredictably. The relationship between the inner world and the external soundscape unfolds through literary and musical counterpoints, in a compelling structure akin to an existential thriller, featuring a different song for each story as an emotional leitmotif.

The performance consists of three stories, each lasting 45 minutes.

During the intermissions, an aperitif offered by “The Golden Spoon” will be provided.

The event, in collaboration with Stanze – il teatro fuori dai teatri, is part of the Teatro da Camera series, curated by Alberica Archinto and Maria Canella, which brings important theatrical performances to the spaces of the Fondazione Adolfo Pini in an intimate dimension, to experiment with a new relationship between actor and audience.
