Subject: the director constructs a history of the women’s movement from the achievement of voting rights to the late 1980s. Through highly interesting period footage and interviews, prominent women of Italian feminism speak, explaining the origins of women’s politics from the movements of the 1960s.
Other women recall factory work, the motivations and struggles for change, a female universe of real life and generalizable meanings, also recognizable in the evolution of family and labor law. More decisive for women’s politics, however, were the major campaigns for the liberalization of abortion rights and the ensuing debate.
